More about this list

A chess club in Seoul seldom has a room of its own. Mapo Chess Club meets at a café on weekend afternoons, and Mullae Youth Chess Club plays on Saturday mornings in Yeongdeungpo-gu; both are known from a national directory of chess meetings. Other clubs are better known for their tournaments: Via Chess in Sujeong, Seongnam, plays a monthly standard event for players under 1800, and Ssgssg2 Chess Club in Goyang hosts FIDE-rated standard tournaments.

Gimpo Chess Club is the venue of the numbered Gimpo City opens, and the Ecclesia club ran a cup, a spring open and a tour series in Seoul through 2025. A student club at Chung-Ang University's college of medicine takes part in inter-university events. Namsan Chess Club in Sindang-dong and a Seoul Chess Club in Dongdaemun-gu are known only from map listings with an address, and they stay unconfirmed. Meetup groups with a fixed weekday are on the play page.
